How to do Photo Masking



What Is Photo Masking?




Photo masking is a simple technique that will remove the
existing background of any image. It delivers nearly the same result as clipping path. But the difference is made when the image is blurry, or objects are with finer stuffs like flying
hair, furs etc. In these places clipping path does not work well. So photo
masking technique is applied.

Photo masking can be done in a number of ways. But the most
accurate photo masking will be the one which is done manually. There are number
of stuffs like background burning. But it will not be able to deliver the
professional result which photo masking is well capable of. If you really want
your images professionally done, then better you use the photo masking method
instead of anything else.





How to do photo masking

There is a number of ways to do photo masking. Today I will
discuss a couple of them in brief. Lets start with the easiest method of photo
masking.


Method: 1: The Easiest


1. Launch
Photoshop in your device.  Open the
desired file in Photoshop from the file browser menu.

2. Select
the ‘Magic Wand’ tool from the available tools at the left side of the window.
Or simply press (W) in your keyboard to select the magic wand tool.



3. Click on
the image and drag the tool over the image. It will automatically select the
primary object of the image and surround it with a selection.
