How to Create Reflection Shadow

How to Create Reflection Shadow

Adding reflection shadow effect will heighten the visual
appearance of the picture. It’s an effect created by photo editing and it will
appear that the object is on a shiny surface and there is a reflection effect
of the object on that shiny surface. It will add a lot of depth and reality to
the photo and creates a nice effect that seems pleasant to the viewer’s eyes. A
number of software is there which can be used to create a reflection shadow.
Today I will show you how to create a reflection shadow with Photoshop (CS6).
Its pretty easy and all you need is a little practice and good Photoshop
knowledge.

How to create a
Reflection Shadow with Photoshop?

1.  Launch the Photoshop program and open theselected file in it.

2.   Duplicate the background layer by pressing (ctrl+ J). Mac users will press (Command + J). Indicate selections if needed.  If you have made no selections in the imagethen it will duplicate the whole layer.

3.   Rename the background layer in to ‘reflection’.You can do this by double clicking on the layer.

4.  Now you need some more room to place thereflection effect in the photo. So you need to increase the canvas size. You can do this, by pressing (C) on your keyboard to selecting the crop tool. Then
draw a box around the image with the crop tool. You will notice that there are
controllers with the boxes. Control the box with them and drag the box downwards.
It will create an extra space in the image. Apply the crop to the image by
pressing Enter. (Return in Mac).
